THE ARTISTIC ACTIVIST COLLECTIVE WELCOMES YOU
How do You Use Your Gift to Transform Society?
WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
The Artistic Activist Collective (TAAC) was created by Dr. Julio Hanson to inspire and empower men and women of color including members of underrepresented communities such as differently-abled and LGBTQ+ individuals, to use their artistic gifts to transform society in a positive way. Spanning from the U.S.A to Nigeria, to France and back again, we represent a collaborative of artists, educators, and entrepreneurs that choose to do something good for our world.

Dedicated to Meaningful Work Based on Love for Each Other
EDUCATION
Dr. Hanson has a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences with an emphasis in International Relations from UCLA. Dr. Hanson pursued his teaching credential from California State Dominguez Hills University and a Master's of Education from California State University, Los Angeles.
Dr. Hanson obtained his Doctorate of Education from Pepperdine University, completing a study entitled The Power of Artistic Activism. Dr. Hanson is in the process of receiving a certification as a Social Emotional Arts facilitator.
ADVOCACY
TAAC seeks to provide students with the skills to be career-ready and college-prepared. Under the leadership of Dr. Hanson, students created a non-profit student organization called Hands On Heart with the goals of bringing awareness to homelessness and providing for animals in shelters. Together they raised over $200 their first year to donate to the HOPICS homeless shelter in Los Angeles.
Students also coordinated a food drive to donate to local churches and animal shelters. To build capacities for peers helping peers to communicate feelings and emotions in a positive way, Dr. Hanson created the Peer Mediation Group.
EMPOWERMENT
TAAC provides a forum where leaders can come together for collective thought on certain topics, share best practices, and support each other’s efforts in making significant improvements in the global community.
The mission of TAAC is to collectively make significant improvements in the areas of health, business, finance, and education in disenfranchised communities utilizing leadership strategies, the arts, and entrepreneurship.
